Heterogeneous Robot Fleet Coordination: Autonomous Beach Patrol, Bartending, and Guest Service in One Live Environment

During the free-mingling reception and beach photo session at Cannes' China Night, MagicLab ran a live test of a capability most companies only demonstrate in simulation: coordinated operation across multiple, different robot types sharing one physical space in real time. An industrial quadruped ran continuous beach patrol, Gen1 moved to the beach bar to continue bartending service, and quadruped panda robot MagicPanda supported guest photo sessions — all three automatically yielding to each other's work zones and dynamically adjusting patrol frequency, positioning, and service radius based on real-time crowd density.

This marked the first real-world outdoor validation of MagicLab's heterogeneous multi-robot coordination system — different hardware form factors, different task types, one shared spatial-awareness and scheduling layer, operating without human choreography.

Why it matters for security and facilities operators: Most "multi-robot" demos use identical units doing identical tasks — the easy version of the problem. Coordinating a patrol unit, a service unit, and a guest-interaction unit across a dynamic, crowded outdoor space, without collisions or scheduling conflicts, is the actual technical bar for deploying a mixed robot fleet across a real venue or campus.
