China's First Multi-Robot Humanoid Collaboration on a Live Appliance Production Line

In an industrial first for China, the full-size humanoid Gen1 achieved domestic-first multi-robot collaboration inside a live home appliance factory — not a staged environment, but a real, running production line. The deployment went beyond isolated party tricks: multiple Gen1 units completed core tasks including material handling and component assembly, while validating that a fleet-scheduling approach to humanoid coordination is operationally viable — a critical proof point for scaling embodied AI across industrial settings.

As described from the robots' own operating loop:

"I walk to the material storage point, pick up the   material bin, and carry it to the workstation. Another 'me' picks the   components out of the bin and places them precisely at the designated   position. I also move finished, assembled products to the inspection station,   and after inspection, transfer them onto the conveyor belt. At the other end   of the line, I scan every packaged appliance with a barcode scanner while   checking that packaging is complete."

Inside this single production zone, multiple humanoid units operate in parallel, handing off tasks and synchronizing timing to keep the line moving — a working example of what "multi-robot collaboration" looks like outside a press release.

Why it matters for manufacturers: Single-robot pilots prove a concept. Multi-robot coordination on a live line proves a business case. This deployment demonstrates that MagicLab's fleet-scheduling architecture can move beyond isolated task execution to orchestrated, line-level automation — the prerequisite for any manufacturer considering humanoid deployment at scale rather than as a single-station experiment.
